We had a fantastic time this week at our first ever Local History Evening.
The evening was a roaring success with everyone in the audience enjoying a selection of vintage photographs in our Local History Exhibition, lovingly put together by Bronwyn and Jennie in the wall space of our Coffee Shop, before taking their seats for the main event: A video and talk depicting life in our beloved village at the turn of the 20th Century.
As everyone enjoyed coffee, cake and a cracking evening, it was standing room only with library volunteers selling out the event a number of days before it took place.
In fact no one wanted the evening to end, and our ever willing and very brilliant Coffee Shop team agreed to stay open and serve more coffee and cake after the film and talk.
Following the success we’ve even set up a reservation list where you can put your name down for our next Local History Evening that we’re planning in the near future. If you’d like to come to our next local history event you can either pop into the library or register your interest here
