Shenstone Library Coffee Shop to Remain Closed for December

Order & Collect Book Service Still Available.

With Lockdown coming to an end across the UK today, we know that many of you will be wondering if Shenstone Library and the Coffee Shop will be reopening.  Unfortunately, we have taken the decision to remain closed for December. Although we know this will be a disappointment to many of our loyal members and customers, we feel it is the right decision to keep everyone as safe as possible.

As you know, our area has subsequently been placed into Tier 3 restrictions, and this makes it difficult for us to open coffee shop services to the community in the way that we would like. The management team has met this evening and feel that it is the right decision to close the coffee shop for December, even if a decision is made to move our area to a Tier 2 on December 16th.

It is our hope that we can re-open in January, and we will keep our fingers crossed that this is the case. We are certainly thinking about all the activities which can be resumed in the new year as soon as it is safe to do so.

We will still be offering our current services so our members still have access to books including:

  • Order & Collect Service
  • Books at Home Service

Please note that books can be returned via the postbox at any time, or in person on Tuesday and Friday afternoons 2 – 4, when the library is open for order and collect.

We are so sad that we cannot reopen and welcome all our friends and members over the Christmas season, but we do hope that you are able to enjoy some festive cheer. There is still plenty going on behind the scenes to bring you some library joy over Christmas including:

  • Christmas Baby Bounce & Rhyme videos
  • Christmas Storytime with Jennie
  • We will also be displaying Christmas art which has been produced by children attending Greysbrooke on the library windows rather than in the gallery as usual, so please do pop along and take a look.

For more information, please feel free to contact us
