Shenstone Youngsters Team Up With Library to Return Lost Wallet!
We saw a great example of community spirit in the library last week as two of our young Library members and a library card helped re-unite a lost wallet with it’s owner!
It was after school time for Kayley and Riley, who were at the playing field in Shenstone when their eagle eyes spotted a wallet lying under a hedge. By coincidence, Andrea Horsnall, the local Police Community Support Officer had been in school and had told the Greysbrooke pupils that she runs a regular slot in the library for local residents to discuss issues. Kayley and Riley had been listening attentively and decided to take the lost wallet to the library straight away. The volunteer librarians, Carole and Elaine, opened the wallet in the hope of finding the owner. What did they find but a library card! They were able to go to the records and find the identity and make contact straight away.
David Drury from Hints was relieved to hear that the wallet had been found and that two honest children had handed it in to the library. He collected it but arranged to meet the children in the library the following Friday to thank them in person. He rewarded the children for their good deed with a gift of Premium Bonds and hoped that they would bring them future fortune.
