Winter Reading Challenge

Join in with our very special fun winter reading challenge!

We’re delighted to be launching a special Winter Reading CHallenge for children at Shenstone Library, and we’d love you to get involved and join in. Taking part is simple, you can collect a series of children’s books to read, and with each returned pack you get special treats!

Visit 1: Order and collect 3 books with a colouring sheet and book mark to take home and read at your leisure.  Choose your favourite type of book or choose a surprise and don’t feel you have to read the books – after all we are doing the choosing.  If you do like the books let us know- draw some smiley faces for us, we’d love to display any of your winter pictures.

Visit 2: Return your books and collect further 3 books one of which will be a non-fiction or a puzzle book- your choice. Also collect a word search and a Liz’s biscuit! You could choose a book about:

  • the body
  • an animal book
  • sports, space
  • or a surprise!

Visit 3: Return your books and collect last group of 3 books with your certificate, for completing the challenge, plus a voucher for a drink from our coffee shop and BEST of ALL- a special medal!

Our Winter Reading Challenge will run from January 10th – February 20th so you have plenty of time to get your medal.

If you are unable to get to the library due to mobility issues, illness or for other reasons, then you can sign up for our Books at Home service!

Our volunteers will deliver a bag of books to your home every month. When we collect, we can drop off another bag of books for you, so you’ll never be left without a good read to hand.

Simply phone (01543 480 915) or email Shenstone Library and we will help you to complete an order form telling us your likes/dislikes, favourite authors/genres. No cost, no stress, just enjoyable reads to your door!
