We are very excited to share with you our February Artist in Residence Ilkay King has featured in one of Turkey's leading national newspapers Hurriyet.

Please see the full translation below:

One of the Artist Ilkay King's works was selected to be exhibited at the Yunus Emre Institute in London and is featured in the global catalogue. Her first solo exhibition is also on display at Shenstone Library in Shenstone, Lichfield until the end of this month.
Artist Ilkay King continues to bring her works exploring colour, texture, and emotional depth to audiences across the UK through various exhibitions.
Self-taught emerging artist Ilkay King creates textured and layered compositions inspired by nature, bringing her works to life through mixed media and modelling paste. Having begun her artistic journey in 2024, Ilkay King says she enjoys exploring new techniques and materials to further develop her creative expression.
In 2025, one of her works, was selected to be exhibited at Lichfield Guildhall as part of the International Women's Day event under the theme "Accelerate Action".
ORGANIC AND ABSTRACT ELEMENTS TOGETHER
In February 2026, one of her works was selected to be exhibited at the Yunus Emre Institute in London - a major international cultural organisation that promotes art, culture, and dialogue worldwide- and is featured in the global catalogue.
In addition, the artist's first solo exhibition in 2026, consisting of 22 works, is on display at Shenstone Library in Shenstone, Lichfield until the end of this month.
Inspired by the beauty of the natural world and human connections, her work brings together organic and abstract elements; using colour and texture to create depth and evoke emotion. Each piece invites the viewer into both a visual and emotional dialogue, encouraging a personal connection.
Alongside her artistic practice, Ilkay King has a background in business and economics and has gained experience in international, high-standard professional environments. This foundation informs her creative work with a reflective, structured, and strategic approach.
